The Mother Lodge of Scotland is situated in the Ayrshire town of Kilwinning. This old and ancient Lodge of Freemasons dates back to the building of Kilwinning Abbey around 1140 and has a unique history second to none in the Masonic world.
Before the forming of Grand Lodge in 1736 Mother Kilwinning was a Grand Lodge in her own right issuing charters and warrants to Lodges wishing to enjoy the privileges of Freemasonry.

This is more than a film or a documentary, it is the sharing of an incredible adventure with discoveries, emotions and a big teaching of tolerance, humility and respect.
This film is more than the celebration of 300 years of Freemasonry, it is a testimony for future generations.

Terra Masonica försöker ge svar på följande frågor: Vad är frimureriet idag? Vilka är frimurarna och vad gör de?
Dessa enkla frågor har egentligen aldrig behandlats ur ett globalt perspektiv.
Följ med på världsomspännande resa och få chansen att besöka 80 frimureriska loger. För första gången kommer du får möjlighet att utforska den verkliga frimureriet, från Patagonien till Lappland, från USA till Indien. I filmen träffar du och hör berättelser från ordensmedlemmar och får ta del av deras verklighet och hur frimureriet påverkar deras liv.
Filmen består av två delar på 60 minuter vardera och är inte textad på svenska. Under pausen kommer det finnas möjlighet att inhandla förfriskningar och tilltugg i foajén.
